Tournament Event Categories
The Gatka Federation of India organizes competitions across various skill levels and age groups. Standard age groups feature six distinct events, allowing practitioners to showcase both their combat skills and traditional demonstration techniques.
Single Soti
ਸਿੰਗਲ ਸੋਟੀ
Focuses on precision and defensive maneuvers using a single stick. This is the foundation of competitive Gatka.
Free Soti
ਫ੍ਰੀ ਸੋਟੀ
A dynamic format allowing continuous motion, creative strikes, and advanced footwork techniques.
Shastar Paradrshan
ਸ਼ਸਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ
Demonstration of skill with various traditional weapons including swords, shields, and chakars.

* Note: For Sub-Junior (U-14), only 4 events are permitted: Single Soti (Ind.), Free Soti (Ind.), and Shastar Paradrshan (Ind. & Team).
Important Rules
- Age Calculation: Age is strictly calculated as of July 1st of the current session using scientific/official methods.
- Participation: Max 2 fight events (Individual/Team) within the age group + Shastar Paradrshan.
- Eligibility: Strict verification process. Fraud or rule violations lead to immediate disqualification.
Official Dress Code
All participants are required to wear the official Gatka Federation of India uniform. Review the mandatory requirements to ensure eligibility for competition.
